Jennifer is an experienced litigator with an established history of resolving disputes for her clients from pretrial settlement negotiations through successful jury verdicts and appeals. Her practice focuses on representing policyholders in coverage disputes and claims against their insurance companies ranging from residential and commercial property claims for damage due to hail, wind, fire, water, smoke, and other covered causes of loss, to general commercial liability coverage, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, and limited health insurance. She also specializes in representing individuals who have suffered personal injuries and families who have suffered wrongful deaths.
In 2018, Jen was responsible for creating Colorado Supreme Court precedent that furthered the rights of Colorado consumers. In the landmark case of Schultz v. Geico, her briefing successfully limited the evidence insurance companies can use to defend against allegations of bad faith claims handling and unreasonable delays or denials in paying covered insurance benefits.
After law school, Jen clerked on the Colorado Court of Appeals before practicing for three years with a well-respected commercial litigation firm in Denver. Jen spent three years as a named partner for a small firm honing her insurance practice before ultimately carrying that practice to join the Hailey | Hart team.
Jen earned Honors degrees in Psychology and French from Hamilton College, was an associated editor for the University of Colorado Law Review, and represented indigent clients as a student attorney with Colorado Law's criminal defense clinic. Jen is a Board Member and Co-chair of the Insurance Bad Faith Litigation Committee of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and a participant in the Women Trial Lawyers Network. Jen’s experiences allow her to effectively communicate her clients’ stories with empathy toward their circumstances.
Jen is a former downhill ski racer and enjoys continuing to explore the Colorado mountains with family, friends, and her dog Bella. She likes listening to and participating in live music performances.
